A few years ago I started a podcast called the Simple Business Show.
At the beginning of last year, it just stopped.
No final episode. No "hey, I'm taking a break." One week there was an episode, and then there wasn't, and then it was a year and a half 😅
If you were listening back then, I owe you an explanation.
The recording was never the problem. That was the part I loved.
It was the pile behind it 👇
|
🎤 booking guests (then chasing them) ✂️ editing every single episode 📝 show notes and graphics 📣 promo emails and follow-ups nobody answered
|
Every episode had a tail of admin attached that was three or four times bigger than the actual conversation.
There were a few other reasons too, and I get into all of them in the episode, including the one I'm least proud of.
But here's the reframe that got me to bring it back:
|
I never had a consistency problem. I had a math problem.
|
The work was too big for what it gave back. No amount of discipline was going to fix that.
What's different now is that I have AI in the mix.
I used to automate a lot of the pieces, but it still took a lot of work from me and my team to keep the whole thing moving.
Now it doesn't, because of the process I built around it 👇
|
📝 show notes written straight from the recording ✍️ the blog post writes and publishes itself 🎧 audio pulled, cleaned, and uploaded without me touching a file 🤖 guests fill out one form and the rest runs on its own
|
Which leaves exactly one job for me.
Show up and talk.
The Simple Business Show is back 👇
Talk soon,
Steph
